![]() ![]() Get a good charger and 2 good 6s batts and that's all you need if you go to a bigger electric. ![]() If it has been flown already that takes some of the danger of the maiden out, and you get it at lower cost so that if you do have a mishap it is less painful as you say. I am purely electric so I have no recommendations on gassers except that I admire them and drool over them and maybe someday.Rather than a NIB, probably the best thing to do is wait for the chance at getting something 2nd hand as I did. ![]() Ouch, your prices are quite steep even compared to us here in Canada. But then I don't even have experience with any planes with retracts, so that is quite a leap. I recently found a club nearby, and the guys there are all pretty nice and welcoming - and know their stuff about bigger balsa and gas planes. Good I think, but not perfect.(?.) I frankly am somewhat inclined to think, if I were to really go for something bigger, then it might just make more sense to go whole hog and get something balsa and possibly even gas. I guess there is the FMS, but it is even more expensive over here I think, and not sure about is rep. I could stomach crashing a €150 plane, but not a €400 plane.) I would love a 1500mm-1800mm P-47. But I am wary of branching in to a new subrealm.(costs, risk of amount of loss if something goes wrong etc. The planes which probably interest me most if I were to get something bigger would be a Flightline Tigercat or maybe the Avios Spit. So getting something bigger is a bit at odds with my situation. Though currently I have a garage full of smaller planes, including parts and ESCs and motors and lipos for that size etc etc. I am curious though about a bigger plane. ![]() I'm probably more partial to P-47s and FW-190s. I am not specifically a Spitfire freak, but more broadly a WWII warbird freak I guess. Now they are not in stock in the EU or UK(normal price €312 or so.) The Flightline is in stock I think at Motion EU, for €400 I think. I missed the chance earlier this year, or maybe it was later last year, to get the Avios on sale for €244. It would be like flying an absolute perfect and scaled up airfix model! Now the durafly and avios models are just perfect as far as I can tell. It is subtle but looking closely you can see. Now the wings they have not quite got the shape correct with the dihedral at the fuselage. I have a pretty full hanger at this point but I mean nothing comes close for me and bigger really does fly better I've now learned!Īre you a spitfire freak at all? The nose on the flightline is just perfect, the gear, flaps, tail, all top notch just about right. When you do a massive loop with a roll on the top or a cuban 8 with this thing it is just perfection. The flightline will not quite have the level of scale details but it is bigger and flies superbly -plenty fast I'd say for a bit of beyond scale. I missed out on the smaller durafly one years back I got the ETO version and wish I'd picked up the MTO as a partner. The price to order a NIB either flightline or avios and have it shipped to Canada had held me back as I drooled over them for some time, I dig the MTO avios version for some reason with the ugly filter on the nose. No more headaches like with the 1.2m and smaller class warbirds nosing over and unable to taxi! It is so beautiful, has amazing gear and soft wheels so lands like a dream either on my geo runway or on the grass at my club. Spitfire freak here.I would love an avios but I got a second hand flightline it was a price/opportunity I could not pass up! If you want a 6s warbird and if the price is similar for the two I would not hesitate to grab the flightline. Plus it might be a bit more of a manageable size. The FL looks great, but I tend to like speed so I would like being able to go faster if possible. What do you Spitfire freaks think of the Avios 1450mm? I have heard it's faster for ex. ![]()
